This year, my friends and I (so lovingly coined "The RHH or Real Housewives of Harrisonburg") have decided to form a team to walk at our local Relay for Life event where we will help raise money and awareness for the American Cancer Society.
Each of us have been touched by cancer in one way or another and this is our way of giving back. Of telling our loved ones how much we care. Of telling the world that there should be more birthdays.
Why do I walk? I walk in memory of my amazing grandfather who passed away from cancer when I was in middle school...
I walk in memory of my sweet uncle who passed away just last year...
I walk in honor of my best friends and their parents. I even walk for friends I've never even met...
Layla's photo, don't steal!
Last Spring, I was amazed at the outpouring of support as our community of bloggers came together, formed Operation Layla, and raised over $7,000 for my friend Layla who needed surgery. That alone has showed me how much love you all are capable of giving.
All of these people hold a special place my heart and I can only hope that you will donate to this amazing cause. Our team goal is to raise $1,500 and we can't do it alone. Click the link below to see the full list of who we walk for and our story.
