A leak and my weekend plans

I was so excited to show you the finished bathroom. Complete with my new cute shower curtain and towels and bathmat and everything. Well, ya see, things don't always go as planned and last weekend, we came across a little problem. As I was going through my nightly routine of washing my face and brushing my teeth, I noticed a puddle of water sitting in front of the washing machine. Lo and behold, the only plumbing fixture my husband DIDN'T replace, was leaking.

You can't really tell because the back of the picture is so dark but back in that corner, the pipes come up through the floor to feed the washer with H2O. Apparently, the pipes were so old, the welds started to corrode and a stream of water was flowing underneath my brand new tiles. The tiles my pregnant ass slaved over for 2 days. Okay, yes, they're self stick tiles and are easy to lay down but it was still heartbreaking to tear them up. :(

So, lucky thing is, my husband is a welder. He had the leak fixed the very next day and we've been waiting for the floor to dry up so I can stick down some new tiles.

I'll save the tiling and chores for Saturday, but before then, I've got plans to tailgate at my in-laws house before the local high school football game and hopefully I'll be able to see my sweet niece sometime this weekend too.

I miss that beautiful face!

What's in store for you this weekend? TGIF!

OMG. That sucks. So lucky your husband is a welder though! I'm pretty sure Jake would be throwing wrenches around if that happened at our house.

Awww, she is so precious! Sucks about your tiles, but at least your hubby is good at fixing things like that. If it was my husband we'd be out of gas...lol.

It's a good thing that you have a handyman at home! Or else, you’d have to wait for the repair guy to replace everything and it'll cost you a few hundreds. Sometimes, old pipes corrode because of the chemicals present in the water and it'll leak without us noticing it. Knowing that, checking your pipes is really a must.

It's a real blessing that you have a husband who can fix any leak in your home. Unfortunately, I fly solo and I have to do things on my own. Ever since a water puddle formed on my kitchen floor, I regularly call a plumber to check and maintain every pipe and faucet in the house. The good thing is, the plumber is a close friend and I get a big discount on his services. Although, there's a lot of plumbers out there who have reasonable service prices.
