Family of Winners

This weekend was all about some friendly Halloween costume competition. By friendly, I mean that I had to win no.matter.what.

Kevin and I had originally intended to go to our friends annual Halloween party as Peg and Al Bundy from Married...With Children but when I grew my baby bump, that idea went out the window and we had to get creative. We ended up going as a white trash couple, me as the guy with a beer gut and my husband as the wife with a ridiculous set of boobs. I may or may not have been jealous of his new rack.

Okay, so you can't really see my beer gut in that shirt but doesn't Kevin make an unfortunate looking woman? I love him but dang, he just isn't a pretty lady. Regardless, we managed to sweep the competition and win best couple costume and Kevin won for most original.

I was excited about my win but not excited about the fact that I can't drink my prize for another four months. I miss wine, y'all.

We weren't the only ones who came up with creative costumes though, our host, Kenny, also decided to dress up as a woman and won for best adult costume.

In fact, from far away, he doesn't make a bad Hooters waitress. Kenny - if you're looking for a side job, I think you found it. You  might consider shaving those legs though, just a tip.

A few other cute costumes of the night included Fred and Wilma Flinstone

Batman and my niece, Brooke, as Robin

And a pair of gypsy's. The one on the right is my other niece, Abby!

Everyone came out dressed to impress. We had Snooki and DJ Pauly D, a family of pirates, Sandy and Danny from Grease, and a ninja to name just a few of the other costumes.

The Halloween party is always a blast and I'm already brainstorming next years costumes since we'll have an 8 month old to think about too. Hard to think we'll be able to sweep the competition again and win best couple and best kids costume this time next year. ;)

Not only did Kevin and I win but another furry family member also placed in a costume contest this weekend.

Bodie won third place in the Petsmart Howl-O-Ween costume contest with his Chia pet costume. He got beat out by a Schnauzer in a poodle skirt and a Pug in a zookeeper outfit.

We may have to revamp his costume for the Petco contest this Saturday, third place just isn't good enough.

I love that idea. A girl did that last year at a party I was at and actually glued curly-looking hair all over her stomach. It was so gross!

There's a redneck wine glass on the way... you can stash the two together (plus a wine cork) so you'll have EVERYTHING you need the second you NEED it. You know four months from now :o)

XO.

just found your blog! so cute newest follower. i love your dog's chia pet costume, that is totally cute and in my opinion he should have won first place!! a poodle skirt, c'mon that doesn't have anything against a chia pet
