Don't Cry Over Cut Hair

So, if you follow my twitter, you'd already know I chopped my hair off. I've been yearning for a change and I think it's in the water because EVERYONE has been doing something to their hair lately. Well kids, I went drastic.

I have always and forever had long hair. When I was in elementary school, I could sit on it because it came down past my butt. Call me a creature of habit, but I've never wanted to go short. Last summer was the shortest my hair has ever been:
Not sure this is the best picture I could find... okay, how bout this one from the summer before that, it was about the same length:

I'm on the right, not sure if you noticed but I'm not the one that looks like a candy cane. I'm the drunk with the blue shirt. Regardless, my hair has never been shorter than that, always long and straight.

So are you ready? Here's the before picture, front and back.
(Pardon the blurry blackberry pics. I forgot my camera)

And now the after picture, you'll have to ignore the runny make up and tear stained tee. Oh, and that half an eyebrow. I was so upset Kevin would hate it that I burst into tears as soon as I got home. I'm awesome.

Okay, my camera battery died and had to use the stupid webcam which sucks. So, I might grow a set and take a better picture tomorrow but I'm not happy. I guess it's just such a huge change, it will have to grow on me. Even if I had a damn buzz cut, I'm gonna swear I love it when I walk into work tomorrow. There's no way I'm dealing with the crap that would be dealt if I admitted I really didn't like it.

Now, for some uplifting activity,  one of my fave bloggers, Jen tagged me to answer a few questions so here goes!!!

1. Describe your IDEAL Saturday
Wake up around 10 to breakfast in bed and then watch movies all day long while I cuddle with the puppy and the husband. That shouldn't surprise you.

2. If you could live anywhere for one year, where would it be?
This is a hard one because yall know how much I love the beach but I would love to live abroad like in Paris or  London. Somewhere like that.

3. If money were no object, where would you vacation to for 2 weeks?
HAWAII. Hands down. I lived there for three years when I was a kid and it is just like the pictures. Always sunny and breezy but never humid.

4. What is the first website you check when you get to your computer in the AM?
Well, the first thing I check on my blackberry is my Twitter, then my Facebook. At work, when I get to my desk, I always check my email and head straight to my Google Reader. Reading my fave blogs takes all day sometimes!

5. Who do you text message the most?
Ooh, this is a tough one too because most of the skanks I text are reading this. Let's see who my last few were from: Lindsey, Michelle, Katie and Heather. Hmm, not surprised. Thems my besties.

6. What was your favorite class in high school?
Drama. Are you surprised? NO

7. Which on-line store do you spend the most time browsing on?
None. Well, recently I've become obsessed with 80stees.com only because it hurts my heart that some kids didn't experience the same crappy cartoons that I did.

8. What is your favorite guilty pleasure snack? (and how often do you indulge?)
COSMIC BROWNIES. They taste especially delicious after you chop six inches off your hair and cry.

Dude, you have beautiful thick brown hair! I'm jealz! Would you be opposed to styling it with some texture, with beachy, wavy look like in mind a la Elizabeth Banks?

I think that the hair cut would look a lot better....

WITH..

A SMILE ON YOUR FACE!!! :))

Cheer up! It looks great! If you're still not a fan, it will grow back fast! :)

Can't wait to see a more clear picture!

So are you unhappy with your hair or okay with it?? I think you should let those bangs grow out a bit..they are a bit short with your new "short" hair :) Just tryin to help. Sometimes it helps to have someone who's just seen only a few pics of you to comment on your appearance!

OMG! Your long hair was so pretty but you look so chic now! Image change!

Oh, I feel you! The last time my hair was cut short (high school) I sobbed so hysterically, that my mom actually paid me to cheer up. No lie.

Anywho, I think it looks good! The more you play around with it and style it, the more you'll like it and make it "you" :) Your hair is so healthy now, which is awesome. Mine is fried to a crisp!

I was a bit premature in posting my tears... I love it this morning! It was so easy to do. Took five minutes to dry and it's so light. :D

Guess I just needed to sleep on it!

haha i agree with what brittany said. it's a huge psychological/emotional change to drastically change haircuts (i did the same in college), but once as the shock wears away, i'm sure you'll love it. i think the new length is fantastic and you have such beautiful hair. glad you are enjoying it more today!

oh, totally with you on answers #1 and 2.

I love it short... It is ok to get upset... I broke out in tear thinking that Patrick would hate my strapless wedding dress and think it was slutty.... AT THE WEDDING! Everything was fine and I am sure Kevin loved you hair... Women are irrational that is our true gift :-)

Oh no! I know how upsetting getting a cut you're not happy with can be, but I really do like this on you. Maybe once you play with styling it a few different ways it will grow on you? I think it frames your face nicely!

Oh, and yeah, there totally must be something in the water, because this morning I scheduled a hair post for later this week!

no matter what I do with my hair, I always cry for the first few days while i'm getting used to it! i think you're one of those people that can totally pull off both long and short hair! it's very cute :)

You're too funny! I wouldn't be surprised if drama would have been my favorite class, had I ever taken it.

I am always the exact same way when I cut my hair, but you really will get used to it, and it's not too short, you can still pull it up and do cute things with it.. I promise, it looks great!

What a difference! Wow! It looks great though - seriously, it's super cute. I'm actually planning on getting my hair chopped around the same way after the wedding.

Your hair looks great! Love your answers too btw :)

Aww, I think your hair looks so good! But I told understand that making a big change takes some time to get used to. I leave the salon hating my hair color because it's different, and then a couple days later I love it.

I think your hair looks really cute :) rumour has it vaseline makes it grow quicker so pop that in it (I know its greasy feeling!) but it might work, it works on my eyebrows!!

I like your blog its really quirky and funny!

Holy moly! I had no idea your hair was so long!! Well, for what it's worth, I really think the short hair suits you :) It will take some time to get used to, but you'll grow (haha, pun not intended) to love it.
