Birthday Mashup

Not only does September signify the start of a new school year and sweater season, but there are seven birthdays that I will celebrate this month. Let me tell you, that's alot of money going towards Dairy Queen ice cream cakes since they're my families favorite. (I'm partial to Cold Stone but we won't debate about that here.)

We began the birthday mashup last night by going bowling for Christopher's birthday, but first, I would like to give you a tiny taste of how my family decides where they go on outings.

Mom emails, facebooks, calls and texts the entire family to notify us all of the upcoming event. Everyone usually replies with the same response... "I don't care". At this point, the honoree (Chris) would get bombarded with emails, texts, facebooks and phone calls about where HE would like to go and he doesn't really reply. Come on, he's a 22 year old boy. He doesn't really give two shakes about anything except Call of Duty and chat roulette.

So, after 8 hours of reply-all emails, we finally decide where were going to go. I text everyone and say "let's meet there at seven" - and here we go again. You see, seven doesn't work for everyone so we have to send 43,290 more emails about how come we can't meet at 5 or 6. But wait, we forgot about dinner, where are we going to eat and should we just meet there? Then, what if someone needs a ride?

Do you see where I'm going with this? It's pretty exhausting. Having six people in different locations with varying schedules, it get's a little hairy. Add in a picky eater, a couple spouses and a grandmother... well, you got yourself a birthday celebration.

After all that hullabaloo, we finally made it to Valley Lanes and I won't lie, we all had a damn good time. Here, enjoy some blackberry photos because I forgot my camera...

Moi. With my 8 pound bowling ball... and I still sucked
Bottom score. :(
Unfortunately, we didn't get to eat ice cream cake but I did buy my bro some awesome bowling alley pizza and nachos. Dad sprung for the cheese fries and beer. Yum.

LMAO Jess this is classic! Your mom's bazillion emails are a must need for any and all events.

LOL I hate those reply-all battles trying to get people together. It's usually an impossibility!

But it looks like you pulled through, bowling is a fave of mine! And now you made me want ice cream cake!!!
