Hope everyone had a fun and fabulous weekend! Mine could have gone better but, meh, life goes on.
Saturday, the hubs and I did a ton of yardwork. He let our tomato plants get a little out of control and so we had a ton of weed eating to do and trimming. While we were out in the yard, it seems a little sneak inside thought he'd have a little chinese food ...
So my purdy white puppy had red general tso's sauce all over his face. Sticky, stinky, gross sauce. YUCK. And I'm not gonna lie, I hate giving him baths. After a few hours of ignoring the chore, I gave in, and voila:
Good as new! So, that was that...then it was onto bigger and better things. The dreaded re-tiling continued...or so I thought. When we tore up the old warped tile that leads from the kitchen into the sunroom:
We came to find some water damage along the wall. I'm thinking the window leaked before it was replaced and noone noticed. So, once we tore up THOSE boards, we found that there wasn't anything even supporting that side of the floor. When you stepped on it, the floor would give about five inches.
I'm guessing the tile that was laid over top gave it some sturdiness but once it came off, there was no way around it. This added more work than we had originally thought.
My poor husband ended up tearing the whole floor out and replacing the studs. At this point, he was slightly agitated and I was not about to ask for a picture. After a full days work and a bad back, the result:
Ready to rock and roll. I may not get to tiling it this evening, but now that it's steady and level, I'm hoping it won't be too hard.
To reward my hubby, I made him some sausage and peppers over pasta, one of his favorites. I used linguica sausage and it turned out better than I expected! Our neighbors have inundated us with fresh green peppers from there garden so tomorrow night it'll be stuffed peppers. ;) We'll be peppered out before fall gets here!
Turns out, the way to a mans heart really is his stomach. The way to my heart is a level floor.
